Longtime Secret Woods neighbor Marianne Pophal has passed away at the age of 83.
She died peacefully in her sleep, according to her obituary on Jacksonville.com. Marianne was one of our neighborhood’s historians and volunteers.
She often volunteered her time to photograph neighborhood events and the annual Christmas displays.
Marianne helped with the gardening at both neighborhood entrances for many years. She is survived by her husband, and our neighbor, Horst, along with her son and four grandchildren.
According to her obituary, she had moved to Boulder, CO for the final six months of her life.
