The Secret Woods board is working to make sure families have a good experience when pool temperatures warm back up and a proposed amendment is moving to the next step.
Details are in this month’s neighborhood board minutes.
Secret Woods Homeowners’ Association
Board Meeting – Monday, Jan. 9, 2023 Time: 6:30
Online Meeting via Zoom
MINUTES
- Certify Quorum: Tracy, Rebecca, Skip, Laurie, Linda, Rick
- Call to Order: 6:30 p.m.
- Approval of Previous Minutes: Approved
- Financials
- Report: Linda. Old price for lawn care in financial report was for the month of December. The new pricing is effective in 2023. All bills are paid and up to date.
- Old Business:
- Amendment: Skip. Dan sent updated addresses including the addresses of new homeowners to Skip. A print shop is going to print out the envelopes. The letters should be finished by the end of the week. Erin Gordon has a notary that can be available. Linda has a notary that can be available, too. Discussion of having the notary come to the pool. Completed ballots can be placed in the drop box at the mailboxes or mailed to the SWHOA mailbox. Discussion about giving people 30 days to return the amendment or a specific date that it should be returned by. The amendment needs the approval of 95 homes in order to pass. The amendment and votes do not expire, so if the required 95 votes have not been received, the board can still try to obtain the required votes.
- Landscaping: Discussion of using Williams Nursery and possibly planting viburnums. Williams will come out and make recommendations on what types of plants would do well in the area. Dan clarified that there is irrigation that runs along the fence line, so the plants will be properly watered. James Harper trims the bushes that are around the neighborhood. Discussion about it being an even exchange for him to trim newly planted bushes. Discussion of Coontie Palm and its tendency to get diseased.
- New Business:
- Pool: Rick to call handyman for an estimate to paint the tables. Laurie to take chairs to Palm Casual and get an estimate for recovering the chairs and ottoman. The fabric color for the chairs will be chosen before a table color. We need to make sure concrete stain is used for the tables. Skip to research prices for new tables, so we can compare with the price of painting the old ones.
- Jacob’s Hook: Motion not to exceed $500 passed for Laurie to get the needed supplies which include the Jacob’s hook, pole, and life ring.
- Miscellaneous and Lot Concerns
- Violations. Skip to post a note at the mailboxes to encourage homeowners to maintain their yards. Discussion of possibly posting a note to the Facebook group. Skip and Rick are to send letters to yards that need attention.
- Architectural Review Committee:
- Items from Board Members & Guest: Discussion about decorating the light poles for Christmas next year. Skip to look into this project.
