Secret Woods Drive Pond Fountain To Be Repaired Or Replaced

The pond fountain on Secret Woods Drive has failed. The board is getting quotes to have it repaired or replaced. For all the neighborhood news, read the June board minutes. 

Secret Woods Homeowners’ Association Board Meeting – Monday, June 10, 2024 Time: 6:30

Online Meeting via Zoom

  1. Certify Quorum: Skip, Rebecca, Kim, Linda, Laurie, and Sandy
  2. Call to Order: 6:31 p.m.
  3. Approval of Previous Minutes:
  4. ARC Report: postponed until next month.
  5. Financials
    1. Report: Monthly financial report was sent to the board. $64, 101 in savings. $1700 in checking, $50, 435 in dues was collected.
    2. Donation to Southpoint Baptist Church (Annual Meeting): Linda sent $200 June 1.
    3. Sunbiz updated and paid ($61.25) This was done after the annual meeting since there was a change in board members.

 

  1. Old Business:
    1. Digital Form for ARC Requests: Laurie/Skip. The digital form is available on the website. The signature feature was removed, but has since been added back. A database is kept and can be copied and stored on sync as well. Neighbors are encouraged to use the digital form to make requests, but a non-digital form is available for printing if necessary.
    2. Estimate for New Windscreens at the Tennis Court: 2 quotes, $2,728 for all fences and $1,868 for the same as we have now. Waiting on a quote from Court Services for the same number of screens we have now.
    3. Cell Tower Update: Susie called Crown Castle on Monday. The ticket that was previously opened fell through the cracks. Kevin Jones, the new site manager, was emailed today, and a new ticket was opened. Discussion about getting local news involved.
    4. Easement cleanup along Goodnow: Susie called and the city closed the ticket saying that the easement area is not actually a road. A new ticket was opened and hopefully the city will take care of the trees/mowing necessary.

 

  1. New Business:
  1. Webmaster Neighbor Requests: Nothing new.
  2. Pool Recertification is due in June (about $325).
  3. Backflow Testing at Pool is due by July 31. Usually $65-$70. Motion approved to spend up to $100 to test backflow preventer. Laurie will schedule
  4. Cameras at entrances to record license plates: Tabled until July meeting.
  5. Neighborhood Yard Sale: tabled until July and/or August meeting.
  6. Projects: Replace lighting at rear entrance: This project is being worked on by Jamie Montgomery. Current Electric was here for 2.5 hours last Friday. They will write a proposal to include repairing the breaks in power, adding outlets, and making sure everything is up to code. $250 approved for payment.

 Repair seam along pool edge: The edge is cracking and parts of the decking are as well. The board will get estimates to have this repaired probably after pool season. Neighborhood clean-up: fall

Quarterly Social Event: Remember flags for the 4th of July. The progressive happy hour was a success! Other social events discussed.

  1. Kona Day: Rebecca to schedule for August as a back-to-school event.
  2. In-person meeting 1-2Xs per year? Tabled until July. Will discuss.

 

  1. Miscellaneous and Lot Concerns
  2. Lot #109 Annual Dues: A payment plan was requested. Dues were paid in full and on time.
  3. Lot #96 Boat: Boat has been in driveway for 3 weeks. Motion approved to send a letter from the attorney.
  4. Lot #18 Commercial truck: A commercial roofing truck has been parked on the property. A letter was sent and the homeowner sent a copy of HB 1203. The board will seek the advice of the HOA attorney regarding HB 1203 and its application to commercial vehicles.
  5. Non-residents accessing pool/tennis facilities: Kim to look into rekeying of the pool. Only lot owners are allowed to use the facilities.
  6. Items from Board Members & Guests: Discussion of HB 1203. Board members to read the bill. Request for up to $350 approved to meet with the HOA’s attorney via Zoom to discuss this new bill and its implications for the neighborhood.

 

Pond #2’s fountain is not working. The pump is no longer working. Request for up to $3000 was approved to repair or replace the fountain. Solitude will be called about the repair/replacement.
