MINUTES OF SECRET WOODS HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION MEETING
DATE OF MEETING: February 1, 2016
LOCATION: 3125 Chapelwood Lane
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: David Theus, Katherine Frazier, Mark Wnuk, Sharon Snow.
NEIGHBORS PRESENT: Byron DeLong, Robert Barrington
Meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m. The minutes from the January 2016 board meeting were accepted as written. The financial statement prepared by Mark Wnuk was accepted as written.
OLD BUSINESS:
RENEW DOMAIN NAME: Process in motion.
POND PUMP REPLACEMENT: Complete. A new pump has been installed.
NEW SPRING FOR POOL HOUSE DOOR: Piner’s will be contacted about replacing the spring on the pool house door. A motion to spend up to $200 on the new spring was passed.
NEW BUSINESS:
BUDGET FOR 2016-2017 – Mark Wnuk is compiling the annual budget for 2016-2017 to be presented at the annual meeting in May.
FOUNTAIN REPAIR: When the new pump was installed it was discovered the power cable needed to be replaced. This cord was the original power cable that was installed 30 years ago. A motion was passed for the approval of $500 to be spent on this cord replacement.
ANNUAL DUES NOTICE: The dues notice as well as the General Proxy and notice of annual members meeting were all approved by the board. The notices will be mailed on March 1, 2016.
DATE FOR ANNUAL MEETING: Monday, May 2, 2016 has been scheduled for the annual homeowners meeting at Southpoint Baptist Church.
POOL FURNITURE: The pool furniture needs to be refurbished or replaced before spring. A committee of David Theus and Sharon Snow will assess the furniture and make their recommendations to the board next month.
POOL DECK: The pool deck needs to be pressure washed before spring. The board will obtain three bids and bring to next month’s meeting.
TENNIS COURT: Discussion on ways to enhance the tennis courts by either cleaning or repainting the courts. A new center strap for the net will be purchased and installed.
BASKETBALL NET: A new basketball net was purchased and installed by David Theus.
LOT CONCERNS: Some progress has been made after letters were sent from the board to homeowners who were in violation.
ITEMS FROM BOARD MEMBERS: Several items will be included in next month’s board meeting including: brighter street lights, and the cell tower.
NEXT MEETING: Our next meeting will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 beginning at 6:30 – 7:30pm.
With all matters discussed and no further business at hand, the meeting was adjourned at 7:15p.m.
