New Secret Woods Board Elects Officers

Following the election of the new Secret Woods board by homeowners at the 2018 annual meeting, the neighborhood board elected its new officers. You’ll find that and more in the minutes from the new board’s first meeting.

SWHOA Annual Meeting – 2018

1. Greeting by President – David T
2. Quorum was certified.
3. The meeting was called to order and the Board Members introduced.
4. A thank you to all of the neighbors who helped move the hurricane creek clean-up forward.
5. Special Guest Clay Yarborough spoke on various matters including storm cleanup, the sexual predator bill, pedestrian/bike safety, school safety bill and the tax free holidays (hurricane preparation 6/1 – 6/7 and school supplies 8/3 – 8/5).
6. Mark W reviewed the FY 2017-2018 budget and expenditures and the FY 2018-2019 budget.
7. David T reminded everyone that garbage and recycle bins need to be placed on the street with enough space between them for the garbage truck arms to maneuver.
8. David T thanked many folks who in the neighborhood who have helped support initiatives over the last year.
9. The CC&R recertification was successful, thanks to everyone for returning their ballots!
10. Major upcoming projects: Tennis court screens, pool deck work, landscaping at the entrances and trimming of the palm trees at the pool.
11. There was a reminder to everyone that our Covenants require any residence improvements to be reviewed by the Architectural Control Committee. Please contact a member of the board if you have any questions.

2. Call to Order
3. Election of Officers:
   1. President: Kathy W
   2. Vice-President: Aaron W
   3. Treasurer: Sharon S
   4. Secretary: Beth R
4. Architectural Committee: Discussion around 2 new home projects
5. Fine Committee: No outstanding issues
6. Estimate for entrance island gardening
   1. Mark L is heading up this initiative
   2. $2300 will come up at the next board for approval
7. Estimate for court screens: Kathy W is working to have estimates for the June meeting
8. Estimate for palm tree trimming at the pool: Beth R will contact Camden & Sons for an estimate
9. Brick column at north entrance: This needs to be fixed or removed before it falls – discuss at June meeting
10. Miscellaneous:
    1. Ann Meyers needs to be given the $100 raffle prize
    2. The books will need to be reviewed. Debbie’s Accounting has been reasonable and used in the past.
    3. Tom Wooten is going to provide an estimate on pressure washing the entrance columns
