November 4, 2002 board minutes
The Secret Woods Board November meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m. by
Board President Joe Miller in the conference room of the YMCA on Belfort Road.
The following board members attended: Bill
Bortzfield, Byron DeLong, Jim Cowling, Joe Miller, Horst Pophal,
and Tom Bozak. Resident Carol Bozak also attended.
Joe began the meeting with word that Board Member Bob Sams
had resigned. Bob had informed the board of his intentions
to resign at the previous meeting. His resignation was
accepted with thanks for all the hard work he has put into the
board and into many neighborhood projects.
Resident Jeff Gibson was nominated by Horst Pophal to fill
the remainder of Bob's term. The nomination was unanimously
approved.
The financial report was then given. Expenses for the
Nov. 2 fall party totaled $653. Special thanks was
given to all the volunteers and to neighborhood businesses that
donated gift certificates. The list of donors can be found in
the latest edition of the Secret Woods newsletter.
The board discussed an ongoing problem with speeders in the
neighborhood. It was noted that the Jacksonville Sheriff's
Office has begun ticketing violators for running the
neighborhood stop signs and disregarding posted speeds.
Several tickets have been handed out and enforcement will
continue.
The board discussed several infractions around the
neighborhood and voted to send out infraction letters to
offenders. A reminder to all residents, a copy of the neighborhood
bylaws and covenants are available on this Website by

A project
update was given. Carol
Bozak has completed repainting all neighborhood signs. The
final sign at the front entrance will be installed as soon as
time permits. The remodeling of the bathrooms is also
nearing completion. The mirrors have been re-installed and
updated and painting is now complete.
The meeting was
adjourned at approximately 7:40 p.m.
