Webelos IIs: Class of 2008
 Webelos IIsCongratulations to our Webelos IIs, who crossed over to Boy Scout Troop 159 on February 19.  Richard Bortzfield, Jonathan Ryals, Nathan Cisneros, Nathan Cohen, Nicolas Pellegrino and Jesse Ryals made the transition.  A special thanks goes to Troop 159 for serving dinner, performing the Arrow of Light and the Crossover ceremonies that night.

Also, a note of thanks from outgoing Pack 318 Webmaster and Webelos IIs Den Leader Bill Bortzfield: As I conclude six years with Pack 318, I wish to thank all the parents who have helped me along the way, especially our boys, who made it all fun.

Great weather greets Olustee2008 Battle of Olustee
Perfect weather and temperatures greeted Pack 318 as they camped at Ocean Pond State Park near the Olustee Battlefield during the weekend of February 16.  Various members of the pack attended the Lake City parade and annual Battle of Olustee. Ocean Pond sunset The camp site was right along the lake, offering some stunning sunsets.  A special thanks to Miss Judy and Mr. Rector for bringing the food and grill!

It was a big week for the Webelos
The Webelos One and Two dens toured The Florida Times-Union Tuesday night.  As part of the tour they videotaped a greeting that was featured on Jacksonville.com's video page.  A few days later the Webelo Two den camped with Troop 159 at Goldhead State Park.  They faced below freezing conditions Friday night but thanks to a warm campfire everyone made it through to see a picture perfect day Saturday.  The Boy Scouts taught our Webelo Twos how to make a fire, various rope knots, navigation and other Boy Scout skills.  The campout will help the Webelo Two den members earn their Arrow of Light, which is Cub Scoutings highest accomplishment.

Camping season is here!
Pack 318 scouts and families shared nature, chili and strolls through the woods at Camp Echockotee Sept. 14 through 16. All dens were represented. The fun included a Saturday evening chili cook-off and pack meeting. Our next campout is Cub-O-Ree at Camp Shands. For a complete guide to Cub-O-Ree, including a detailed schedule, click here.

Perfect weather greets baseball campers
