Details emerge on plans for development near Secret Woods
Karen Brune Mathis reports on Jacksonville.com that Deerwood
Lake, the 284-acre development beginning to sprout near Butler
and Southside boulevards, is targeted for a 444-unit luxury
apartment complex estimated at $40 million to $45 million.
The 23-building project, by Winter Park-based Epoch
Properties Inc., is slated to go up on almost 43 acres at
southwest Southside Boulevard and Touchton Road.
Mathis reports that the project will be developed in Deerwood
Lake along three sides of a lake behind the proposed Publix
Super Markets-anchored center and the proposed Sonic Corp.
drive-in restaurant. And those projects are going up near the
existing Copeland's restaurant.
