Date: Nov. 24, 2011 Neighborhood faces some large expenses The neighborhood pool is due for a refresh. Read the quotes received and get the rest of the neighborhood news in the November minutes. Date: Oct. 15, 2011 Fix on the way for front fountain The board reports the fountain at the front of the neighborhood should soon be working again and dates for this year's holiday activities calendar have been firmed up. Date: Sept. 18, 2011 Shed measure fails to pass Although a majority of participants voted to allow sheds in Secret Woods, the measure failed to pass because not enough residents took part in the process. Date: July 17, 2011 Board hires new pool company After receiving complaints about the quality of the neighborhood's pool water, the Secret Woods board has hired a new pool maintenance company. The neighborhood will also soon be asked to vote on a change to the covenants in regards to tool sheds. Read the July minutes for all the details. Date: May 17, 2011 Accomplishments reviewed at 2011 annual meeting Three new board members were elected at the annual homeowners meeting held at Southpoint Baptist Church. Date: April 17, 2011 Annual homeowners meeting, May 9 Mark your calendars to join your neighbors on May 9 at 7p.m. at Southpoint Baptist Church for the annual homeowners meeting. Get the details and catch up on your neighborhood's news in the April minutes. Date: April 9, 2011 Pond returned to its former beauty A big thanks goes to the Secret Woods board. The pond on Secret Woods Drive had quickly begun to deteriorate after the fountain aeration motor went bad. Algae blooms were underway but before the blooms could get a grasp on the pond for the entire season, the board had the fountain fixed and the pond chemically treated. Once the chemicals were applied, a neighbor skimmed the pond's remaining algae. Those actions combined with a good rain have restored it. Date: February 27, 2011 One fountain fixed, one to go The board has had the front fountain repaired. Now the race is on to fix the Secret Woods Drive fountain before the spring algae has a chance to take hold as it did the last two years. Read the details in the February minutes. Date: January 15, 2011 The joys of neighborhood maintenance The neighborhood fountains have stopped working again but the board is on top of it. Read the details in the January minutes along with the rest of the Secret Woods news for January. Date: January 1, 2011 Happy New Year! Here's hoping 2011 will be a great one for all our Secret Woods families. Just in are photos taken by Marianne Pophel of the winning 2010 Christmas displays. Date: December 4, 2010 Two special holiday neighborhood events December 16 - Decorating Awards. Turn on all your holiday lights at 6:30 p.m. for the holiday decorating awards. A panel of neighborhood volunteers, led by Marianne Pophel, will place recognition signs in the yards of winners. First, second and third place prizes will be awarded for Traditional and Creative Design. December 18 - Luminary Night. Each neighbor's packet of bags and luminaries will be delivered to their front porch during the week of December 13. Instructions will be included and sand for the bags will be available at the pool parking lot by Wednesday, Dec. 15. More neighborhood news
