Please be on the lookout! Wednesday morning July 24th (tuesday
night the 23rd to some) around 02:00 am a small blue pickup
pulled into our driveway (we were out of town) and began loading
up the patio furniture off of our back deck. Fortunately an
alert (and slightly insomniatic) neighbor heard the truck pull
up, saw what was happening, and turned on their exterior
lighting, which ran the thief off before he was able to get more
than one chair into his truck. PLEASE be on the lookout for any
suspicious vehicles or persons who may be casing the
neighborhood looking for targets. This guy had obviously planned
his caper, and may have or be planning others. If anyone spots
an oversized pvc type chair with green and tan cushions, please
contact Kathy or Rob at 731-4572. Thanks!

Pool bathrooms undergo remodeling
The bathrooms at the pool are undergoing a much
needed upgrading thanks to the hard work and generous donation
of time by several of our neighbors. New sinks and faucets
were installed during the very rainy weekend we just had.
The volunteers certainly managed to find a silver lining in all
the rain. Recognizing a chance to get a big part of the
dirty work done without impacting folks heading to the pool, the
team leaped into action.
Volunteers
on this labor intensive project include Joe Miller, Bob Sams,
Tom and Carol Bozak, Richard Miller and Mark Wnuk.
The project is a work in progress. Joe says he hopes to have the
project completed by July 4.
They
have already made tremendous progress. Check out the
photos. The old fixtures have been removed and put out for
trash pickup. The four new faucets and sinks have been
installed. Painting is also underway. If you see any of
these volunteers please be sure to give them a word of thanks
for their efforts to make our neighborhood a better place .

New
room at the Bortzfields
Curious
about the construction going on at the blue house on Secret
Woods Drive next to the pond? The Bortzfields are building
a new sunroom. Initial construction should only take a few days.
If the room looks incomplete for a while, don't worry. It
has a lot of custom cut glass that won't arrive from the factory
for about six more weeks. In the meantime a blue-colored
temporary filling will be used. The room will follow the
pitch of the home. It will be all glass with a shingle roof that
matches the rest of the home's roof. The Bortzfields wrote
the neighborhood board back in January to make sure the room
would meet with the approval of the neighborhood's architectural
committee. You can watch the construction of the room on
the Secret Woods Webcam, which is updated every five minutes.
Once the project is complete the Webcam will be refocused on a
pond shot.
