February Feb. 13 update - Olustee rained out
Pack 318 is NOT camping at Olustee because of the rain! Individuals are still welcome to attend, but it is no longer a pack event.
February 2004 - a big month for Pack 318
Our Webelo twos will crossing over into
Boy Scouts on February 10. We hope the entire pack and their
families will join us as we honor our Webelo twos. Our annual Blue
and Gold dinner will be held, beginning promptly at 6pm. Friends
and family are encouraged to attend. Cameras are also
welcome. The second big event in
February is our annual camping trip to the Olustee Battlefield
reenactment. This year our plan is to camp at the battleground
site. If you would like to learn more about the reenactment click
here. For a map and directions to Olustee click
here. Our pack campout will be held February 13, 14, and 15. Check with
your den leader or Cubmaster Justin Ellis for details at our weekly den
meetings. There will be a sign-up sheet so we can make space
reservations and other plans.
Cuboree - Pack 318 scores big again
It was another successful Cuboree,
Oct. 24-26, 2003,
for Pack
318. The back-to-back winners of the Spirit Award did a
great job of showing other packs in the River Bend District just what
spirit is all about. Once again Pack 318 took top honors for Best
Campsite, first place in the scavenger hunt and an impressive
second place in the spirit awards contest. Individual pack members
also earned belt loops and other accomplishments. A big thank you goes
to all the volunteers, especially
everyone who worked in the
kitchen and took the time to help set up and
break down.
A
photo gallery
of some of the fun has been posted. If anyone sees a picture they
want just e-mail the Webmaster and he'll e-mail back a high-resolution
version suitable for printing in sizes up to 8x10.
Get ready for Cuboree: Oct. 24-26
at Camp Shands
Cuboree is fast approaching, popcorn sales are underway and it's
already time to start thinking about the Raingutter Regatta. You'll find all the
details in this month's Pack 318 newsletter. There is also important
information about Baloo Training for Pack leaders. To read the
newsletter click here.
Fort Clinch campout out - loads of fun
The
first campout of the 2003 fall season was a picture perfect weekend
at Fort Clinch State Park in Fernandina Beach. Scouts hiked,
biked, fished, played games, earned belt loops, visited Fort Clinch
and more. While at the fort the scouts learned about the
medical treatments popular at the time. Fort Clinch was built
in 1847 and has served in a variety of military operations. It was
purchased by the State of Florida in 1935. If you would like
to learn more about Fort Clinch State Park and the fort's history
visit the state's Web
site. A photo
gallery of the campout has also been posted. If anyone sees a
photo they want, just e-mail the Webmaster with the photo's number
and you will be e-mailed back the high-resolution version, suitable for printing
on photo paper in sizes up to 8x10.
First camp out of the season: Sept. 12-14
Welcome to the Pack 318 Web site. We've got an exciting year
planned. Our first camp out will be September 12-14 at Fort
Clinch Park in Fernandina Beach. We'll be in youth areas 1 and
2. The camping costs will be $2.00 per youth per night, $3.00
per adult per night. The food costs will be $20 per family.
Registration forms, medical forms and money for the campout are
due to the Pack by Tuesday, September 2, 2003. For a printable map
to the camp out click
