Lighting up the night

A special thanks goes out to all the Pack 318 and Troop 159 scouts who helped make the annual luminaries night in Secret Woods such a success on Saturday, December 18.

Scouts from Pack 318 and Troop 159 gathered along with parents and Secret Woods residents to form an assembly line, putting together more than a thousand candles inside bags with sand.  Residents and scouts then delivered the luminaries to every home in the neighborhood, in some cases setting them up as well.

Calm winds and temperatures in the 40s combined for the perfect setting for residents and scouts  to stroll about or drive through the neighborhood to admire all the holiday lights.

A good scare had by all
The Bears and Wolfs had a frightfully good time at the Haunted Forest on Saturday night, October 30.  They played all sorts of games.  But the highlight had to be the hayride through the Haunted Forest.  Jason and his henchman tried to get us but luckily our driver was too fast for the guys with the chainsaws.

Popcorn sales - a big success
Pack 318 did a show-and-sell popcorn sale at the Walmart at Beach & Southside on August 29 and 30.   Cubmaster Justin Ellis said the pack had already recouped the cost of the popcorn and the percentage due to the North Florida Council by the close of business Saturday, which meant Sunday sales would be pure profit for the pack.  Thanks to all the scouts and their families who volunteered their time to make our main fundraising event of the year such a success.
First pack meeting is Tuesday, August 31

Pack 318 made an excellent showing at Scout Blast 2004, which was held at the brand new Jacksonville Equestrian Center.  The Equestrian Center is the new home of Scout Blast, which had been held at Cecil Field previously.  Our booth, which was put together by Ms. Pat's den, was a huge hit.  The iguanas, tarantula, ball python and yard lizards were seen by hundreds of scouts from across North Florida. Thanks to everyone who attended Scout Blast 2004 and to those that helped staff our booth.
