Perfect weather greets Camp Chippewa campout
A cool, crystal-clear night followed by a picture-perfect day greeted Pack 318 Cub Scouts for their November campout at Camp Chippewa on Tiger Hole Road.

The campout started Friday evening with a cracker barrel followed by a flag retirement ceremony.

Saturday the dens woke-up to a pancake and bacon  breakfast to get them ready for a morning of sports.  The Bears and Webelos had a spirited game of flag football while the Tigers and Wolfs took in some fishing at the lake.

A big thank you goes out to Camp Chippewa owner George Burrell, who allowed Pack 318 to use the camp free of charge.  Special thanks also goes to Mrs. Pellegrino for sewing blue and gold flags for each player that took part in the football game.

Thanks Fire Station 28!
A big thank you goes out to the City of Jacksonville's Fire and Rescue Station 28, also known as the Roadrunners.  They gave the Tiger, Wolf and Bear dens quite a show on Tuesday, Oct. 25.  The boys got tours of the firefighters' living quarters and trucks.  They also received first hand demonstrations on how the equipment works, including the ladder truck.  One of the highlights had to be the water hose.  The firefighters let each boy take a turn at the hose to the delight of all.
