Joe then announced the annual meeting will be Tuesday, Sept. 23 at Southpoint Baptist Church.  The meeting will begin promptly at 7pm.  People are asked to arrive and sign-in by 6:45 p.m.  Proxies will also be available to residents who are unable to attend but still want to cast their votes.

No accounting report was available.

Joe announced the annual dues statements were mailed out Sunday.  There was discussion on when the dues are actually due each year.  Joe pointed out that the board of directors sets the date when dues are mailed out.  

Sallie gave a pool update.  She said Portofino Pools was adding an extra chemical to treat algae that was noticed.  Our pool serviceman has also been scrubbing some of the algae.  She also reported the pool lock had been damaged.  Sallie contacted the locksmith who came out and repaired the lock.  The locksmith couldn't tell for sure if someone was misusing the lock or whether it had been vandalized.  

The board noted that a neighbor has had an ongoing construction project to ad a room for more than a year, violating the eight month limit specified in the covenants.  The board voted to send out an infraction letter to the neighbor stating the project needs to be completed within 60 days.

The board rejected a homeowner's request to erect a chain-link fence, noting it violated the covenants.

Harold mentioned he was concerned that some families still had not paid last year's dues.  Joe explained that a payment plan had been set up for some of those families and the outstanding dues were being pursued. 

The next board meeting was scheduled for Monday, September 8 at 6:30 p.m.
