The Secret Woods
August 9, 2004
board meeting was called to order by Board
President Sallie Wnuk at
6:35 p.m.
in the conference room of the YMCA on
Belfort Road
.
The
following board members attended: Bill Bortzfield, Tom Bozak, Wayne
Williams, Horst Pophal, Valerie Redmond and Sallie Wnuk.
Sallie read the minutes from the last meeting.
The minutes were approved as read.
Treasurer’s
Report
Tom reported that annual
dues are outstanding from only one homeowner.
The homeowner has been contacted and will pay the dues in September.
Tom has also received the new operating permit for the pool.
He will post it within the next few days.
Old
Business
Change
of Covenants and Restrictions (Sheds)
Votes are being returned to board members.
Sallie will place additional notices at the bulletin board to remind
homeowners to return their ballots.
Carpenter
Ants at Pool
An appointment has been made with Bug Out to treat the pool area for
carpenter ants.
Street
Lighting
Sallie contacted the city to determine if it would be possible to have
additional lighting in the neighborhood.
She was informed that the neighborhood has all approved lighting in
place with the exception of the corner of Chapelwood and Secret Woods Trail.
This light will be added by the city.
Additional lighting would cost $1000 per light.
The city will check to see if it is possible to increase the wattage
on existing lights. In addition,
it was noted that if tree branches are obstructing a light the city is
responsible for clearing those branches and should be notified if the
situation exists.
New
Business
Landscaping
Tigerhole and Hilsdale Roads
Wayne Williams contacted the city regarding
neighborhood improvement grants. The
city provides matching grants of up to $5000 for neighborhood improvements.
The application period is in February and March.
A neighborhood representative would be required to complete the
necessary paperwork and attend 4 workshops.
If approved, the money would be made available during the 2005/2006
fiscal year.
There was discussion surrounding what should be done to improve the
appearance of the area in the meantime.
The board members agreed to walk the area and bring suggestions to
the next meeting.
General Announcement re: Condition of
yards and homes
Sallie will be putting a notice on the bulletin board reminding asking
everyone to look at their yards and homes with a critical eye and make any
repairs necessary. The group
read and approved the notice.
The meeting was adjourned at
7:15.
The next meeting, was scheduled for
