The Secret Woods
December 12, 2005
Board Meeting was called to order by Board President
Sallie Wnuk
at
6:32 p.m.
at the Southpoint Baptist Church on Tiger Hole Road.
The following members attended: Bill
Bortzfield, Wayne Williams, Pat Parrish, Mary
Loving and
Sallie Wnuk
. Residents Byron Delong, Mark Lemmenes, and John Loving also attended.
Sallie opened the meeting by asking Bill
to read the November minutes. The minutes were approved as read.
Sallie then gave the treasurer's report.
As of November 31, 2005 the neighborhood had a balance of $30,790.15 .
She then reviewed the final tally for the proposed
amendments to the Secret Woods covenants
and bylaws. The final count was:
Proposal to waive annual dues for board president, secretary and treasurer: 85
yes, 14 no.
Proposal to increase the new homeowners initiation fee to $500: 84 yes, 11 no.
The measures, which were proposed by residents at the annual
meeting in June and mailed out in July, failed.
The board agreed to bring up the idea of a new homeowner initiation fee increase
again next year at the annual meeting.
Bonnie Cowling relayed to Sallie that the block captains reported
they were not willing to do the research necessary to order the luminaries. At the October meeting Bonnie reported that the block
captains had volunteered to take on the project.
Given the late notice, the board decided to cancel the
event this year since no one in attendance could commit to spear-heading the
project with such short notice.
Sallie reported that Richard's Lawn Service has fixed the tennis court ties.
Mary asked for an update on the toilet
at the men's room at the pool being fixed.
Sallie said her husband hadn't completed repairs yet, noting that the project
turned out to be bigger than first thought. Mary suggested the
neighborhood get a
handyman that could be our on call person for things like this and agreed to
check around for such a person.
The meeting adjourned at 7:09pm
The next meeting will be January 10 at 6:30pm at the
Southpoint Baptist Church. Submitted by Bill Bortzfield
on December 26, 2005.
