SECRET WOODS HOMEOWNERS’ ASSOCIATION
MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 13, 2006
Board Members Attending: Pat Parrish, Jacqueline Friedman, Katherine

Homeowners Present: John Loving, Byron DeLong
Call to Order: 6:30 p.m.
Minutes: The minutes were read and approved with minor changes.
Treasurer’s Report: September 30, 2006
Balance: $28,238.81
Deposits:

Expenses: 3,892.22
October 31, 2006 Balance: $24,471.59
Unfinished Business:
Pool: An invoice was received, with request for $3000.00 deposit. Pool work
could begin the first week of December 2006. It will require two weeks to
get rid of the algae problem. Next, three days will be required to drain the
pool and complete the necessary work. After discussion, it was decided to
obtain copies of Crown Pool’s warranty, proof of insurance, and license.
Also, it was decided to have the work begin in January 2007 in order not to
conflict with any holiday activities. Approval for additional payment up to
$500.00 was given should the delay from December to January increase the
cost. Ms. Frazier will contact Crown Pool about the above changes and
coordinate this with Portofino Pools. The tennis and pool area will be
closed during the time the pool is drained. Once all is confirmed, a check
for $3000.00 will be mailed to Crown Pool. This money will be from the
general budget and will be replaced when a C.D. matures.
Architectural Committee: The issue about the air conditioner is still being
addressed.
Homeowner’s Association Insurance: As of April 2007, State Farm Insurance
will no longer carry Homeowner’s Association Insurance. The board has
authorized a search and Wayne Williams had provided a list of several
companies with carry this insurance. Pat Parrish will get a copy of the
State Farm policy and contact other neighborhood associations, including
Deer Lake and Deer Woods.
Newsletter: The first newsletter will be published in December 2006. Please
see the community bulletin board for details. Wayne Williams will be the
publisher and Dale Elzie will be the editor.
Luminaria: Our luminaria will be 12/23/06. The plans and materials are being
organized. Block captains and volunteers will be coordinating the completion
and distribution of the luminaria. The candles, bags, and sand are being
purchased with the association funds.
Covenants/review/recommendations: Tabled until the December 2006 meeting.
New Business: For any homeowner who is interested in the new apartment
complex development, you are encouraged to attend the community meetings and
voice your thoughts and opinions. However, no individual is authorized to
speak on behalf of the Homeowner’s Association. You may also mail or email
your thoughts and opinions to Ms. Lurise Bannister, City Planner.

Jenkins, District 4 at the Cube Hunter Park Community Center, 3620 Bedford
Road, Monday, December 4, 2006 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
