MINUTES OF SECRET WOODS NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION MEETING

DATE: November 12, 2007
LOCATION: Publix Meeting Room
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Wayne Williams, Mary Loving, Katherine Frazier, Gary Bassett, Ken Peterson.
HOMEOWNERS PRESENT: John Loving, John Sittig, Byron DeLong

Meeting was called to order; minutes from October 8, 2007 were read by Wayne Williams, amended and accepted. The monthly treasurers’ report was also read and accepted.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

*Basketball Goal: The basketball goal has been ordered and shipped. Volunteer neighbors will install.

*Fountain in front pond: The motor and pump for the fountain in the front pond have been cleaned and repaired. A special thanks to Mary Loving for her time and diligence in getting bids, meeting with the contractors and following through this project until completion.

*Water cooler at pool: Repairs of the water cooler are pending.

*Tennis screen: Ordering the tennis screens is pending.

*Broken pipe at #1 sprinkler control: A special thanks to Beth Reiney and her brother at Cast Crete Company for donating three concrete parking bumpers. These were delivered and installed at the parking lot with only a minimal charge for delivery.

*Infraction letters: Discussion on the timing of the second infraction letter. These letters will be mailed to the neighbors who have not complied to their first notice.

NEW BUSINESS:

*March garage sale: Several neighbors have requested a neighborhood garage sale be scheduled for March. Discussions will continue at the next meeting.

*Broken and uneven sidewalks: The City has repaired some but not all of the areas of our sidewalks that are uneven. It was discussed that the Board is not responsible for the repair of these sidewalks. If other residents are concerned about the safety of their sidewalks they should call the City and schedule repairs.

*Luminary Planning: Discussions on the planning of our luminary event were held. Last year’s event was such a success the board wanted to follow the program devised by Cheryl Lemine. John Sittig will contact Cheryl to get the planning underway. A reminder of the date of Saturday, December 22 will be posted at the bulletin board. Rain date will be Sunday, December 23. Categories were chosen for the signs of recognition for Christmas decorations. The categories are as follows:

*Traditional display
*Creative design
*Multi-cultural
*Architectural
*Unlit decorations
*Front door decorations

A volunteer committee of neighbors will be the judges and place the “Awards of Distinction” signs in the yards of the winners.

*Next board meeting will be December 10, 2007.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:15pm.
