DATE: June 9, 2008
LOCATION: Publix
Meeting Room
BOARD MEMBERS
PRESENT:
Gary Bassett, Katherine Frazier,
David Hargnett, Beth Reiney, and Rob Hagen.
HOMEOWNERS
PRESENT:
Byron DeLong
and Joe Reiney.
Meeting was called to
order; minutes from the
May 5, 2008
Annual Meeting were read and accepted.
The treasurers’ report as well as the financial statement from the
bank were read and accepted.
UNFINISHED
BUSINESS:
*Election
of officers: Beth Reiney
was appointed Vice President of the Neighborhood Association, and Rob Hagen
was appointed Treasurer. Pat
Parrish will remain as bookkeeper and Katherine Frazier was appointed
Secretary.
*Block Captain
Liaison: David Hargnett
volunteered to be the Block Captain Liaison.
*Pool Liaison:
Beth Reiney, Rob Hagen, David Hargnett and Gary Bassett have all
volunteered to be the pool liaisons.
If a neighbor sees a problem in the pool area they should report it
to one of the liaisons who will in turn call the appropriate repair service.
*Pool Furniture:
The pool area is in need of additional seating.
The board approved a budget of up to $150/per chair with a total of
six chairs to be purchased immediately.
*Water Fountain:
Discussion was held regarding the budget for replacing
the old water fountain.
Additional information is needed before approval can be made.
A quote from a plumber on the estimated cost to install a water
fountain will be brought to the next board meeting.
*Red Tip Shrubs:
The red tip shrubs on the south end of the tennis court are dying
and need to be replaced. Several
hardy types of shrubs were suggested as well as installing one or two new
sprinkler heads to reach this area with water.
The board approved up to $1,000 to remove the old shrubs, replace
with new ones, and install sprinkler heads.
Beth Reiney will begin the process of getting prices on this project.
*Pool Service:
The board has not been pleased with the current pool service and
is getting bids from other pool maintenance companies.
*Covenant
Violations: It has been
brought to the attention of the board that several neighbors are in
violation of one or more of our covenants.
A reminder will be posted
on the bulletin board to request residents to respect the neighborhood by
adhering to the covenants.
NEW
BUSINESS:
*2008-2009
Budget: Based on the
past three years expenditures a 2008-09 association budget was proposed and
accepted. Discussion was held on
ear-marking reserved funds for future major expenditures.
*Unpaid Dues:
As of this date 15 homeowners have not paid their dues.
A second letter requesting payment will be mailed.
*Lights and
Spotlights: It was noted
that two lights on poles at our pool are not working and need to be
replaced. The timer on the
