MINUTES OF SECRET WOODS HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION MEETING
DATE: September 13, 2009
LOCATION: Publix Meeting Room
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Gary Bassett, Katherine Frazier,
David Hargnett, , Beth Reiney, Ross Thompson.
HOMEOWNERS PRESENT: Bryon DeLong
Meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. The minutes from
the August board meeting were accepted as written. The
financial statement prepared by Pat Parrish was accepted as
written.
OLD BUSINESS:
*MONTHLY UPDATE: (1) All annual homeowner dues have been
collected. (2) The pump and motor in the back pond are now
operating.
(3) The Lake Doctor has treated both ponds, however, will be
called again to treat the front pond that still has algae.
(4) Brown bags with garage sale information, pool party
details, an updated directory and information on city
services were delivered to each homeowner.
*LIGHTS AT TIGER HOLE ENTRANCE: The light bulbs at the Tiger
Hole entrance have been purchased and several have been
installed.
*GARAGE SALE: Details of the garage sale were discussed by
Beth Reiney, chairman of the event. An ad has been placed in
the Times Union, and signs will be put out on Saturday
morning. All neighbors who wish to participate need to place
their garage sale items in their driveways on Saturday
morning. Shon Graham, David Hargnett and Skip Cooney will be
in charge of grilling and selling hotdogs and hamburgers
during the lunch time hours. Soft drinks and water will also
be available. These treats will be sold to garage sale
shoppers and neighbors who need a quick break from their
selling.
*POOL PARTY: The neighborhood pool party begins at 4:00pm
with neighbors and friends gathering at the pool for a bit
of relaxing after a busy day of garage selling. The grills
will again be fired up for more hamburgers and hotdogs
(provided by the association) with neighbors bringing the
side dishes. A sign up sheet will be posted on the bulletin
board the week of the event. Soft drinks and water will be
provided.
*2009-2010 BUDGET: Rob Hagen is working on the annual budget
and will have the finished product by the October board
meeting.
PRESSURE WASHING: Rick, our yard man, will pressure wash the
pool deck and pool chairs this week. He will also pressure
wash the mailbox area some time this week.
NEW BUSINESS:
NEW NEIGHBORS: The board welcomes new neighbors Caroline
Petrey, Lot #90, and the Condon family Lot #63. The Condon’s
have graciously understood the neighborhood bylaws regarding
their gazebo and shed and will be removing both within the
next several months. The board extends our thanks to them
for their willingness to uphold the covenants.
MISCELLANEOUS:
FALL WORK DAY: A discussion regarding repairs and updating
the restrooms at the pool was held; it was decided to
schedule a workday sometime in the fall when the weather
would be cooler.
HANDY MAN ON CALL: The board discussed the possibility of
hiring a handyman to have on call when small repairs are
needed. Further discussion will be held at next month’s
meeting.
With all matters discussed and no further business at hand,
the meeting was adjourned at 7:00pm.
The next board meeting will be held Monday, October 12, 2009
at the Publix Meeting Room at 6:00PM.
