MINUTES OF SECRET WOODS HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION MEETING
DATE: October 12, 2009
LOCATION: Publix Meeting Room
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Gary Bassett, Katherine Frazier,
David Hargnett, , Beth Reiney, Ross Thompson, Shon Graham,
Rob Hagen
HOMEOWNERS PRESENT: Bryon DeLong
Meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. The minutes from
the September board meeting were accepted as written. The
financial statement prepared by Pat Parrish was accepted as
written.
OLD BUSINESS:
*MONTHLY UPDATE: (1) A huge thank you to Mark Lemmenes who
recommended an electrician who repaired our security lights
at no charge. (2) Another huge thank you to Beth Reiney who
steered the garage sale and pool party and to all other
board members who assisted in this fun event. (3) Annual
budget has not been completed at this time, and was
forwarded to November’s meeting.
*ANNOUNCEMENT BOARD AT ENTRANCES: Beth Reiney researched the
cost of a signage board for each entrance to announce our
neighborhood activities. The approximate cost of each board
is $275 (not including shipping). This cost includes the
notice board , 2’ x 3’, enclosed with a glass door , sealed,
locked, and with a set of letters. Shon Graham and David
Hargnett have volunteered to build a stand, complete with a
small roof, to house these announcement signs. The board
approved $1,000 expenditure for two completed announcement
signs and stands.
*PRESSURE WASHING: It was brought to the board’s attention
that the mailbox area has not been pressure washed. Another
request will be made to Rick, our yard man.
NEW BUSINESS:
*ANNUAL CHILI COOKOFF: The date of Saturday November 14,
2009 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm has been selected as the date of
our neighborhood chili cookoff. Ross Thompson has accepted
the lead on this fun annual chili competition. A sign up
sheet will be posted on the bulletin board and all neighbors
are encouraged to come and join in the fun. Music, prizes,
and the Bounce House are now scheduled for the event. More
details will be confirmed at the November meeting.
MISCELLANEOUS:
FALL WORK DAY: It was determined that our fall work day
should include the cleaning out and organizing of the pool
maintenance room. It was discussed that perhaps shelving
could be built or purchased to help utilize the space in the
room.
HANDY MAN ON CALL: With the pool restrooms needing an
update, the board decided to make a list of items that
needed attention and get several bids from recommended handy
men. The projects for the restrooms include: automatic door
closures, replacing the broken toilet paper holders,
installing soap dispensers, repairing or replacing the air
freshners, install a board with towel hooks in each
restroom, and paint both rooms. These bids will be brought
to the November meeting.
BIDS FOR CLEANING POOL RESTROOMS: It was also discussed
getting new bids for the cleaning of the pool restrooms.
These bids will be brought to the November meeting.
With all matters discussed and no further business at hand,
the meeting was adjourned at 6:50PM.
The next board meeting will be held Monday, November 9, 2009
at the Publix Meeting Room at 6:00PM.
